Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter game. It is the sequel to Valve Corporation's award-winning Left 4 Dead. The game launched on November 17, 2009, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in the United States and November 20 in Europe. It builds upon the cooperatively focused gameplay of the original and uses Valve's proprietary Source engine, the same game engine used in Left 4 Dead.

Sebelum kehancuran terjadi, Rebbeca dan Cecil dituntut untuk belajar dari ibu tiri mereka yang membosankan bahwa ibu tiri mereka dulu adalah agen mata-mata nomor satu. Dan kini dua anak-anak yang baru berusia 10 tahun tersebut harus bisa menahan kebencian mereka dan mulai mengandalkan kecerdasan mereka.

Ceritanya dimulai 11 tahun setelah kecelakaan penerbangan 180. Sam Lawton (Nicholas D’Agosto) bersama kekasihnya Molly Harper (Emma Bell), dan beberapa penumpang lainnya menaiki bus interline city, RollandCoach Lines dalam acara retreat menuju Vancouver-British Island. Sam mendapatkan penglihatan bahwa sebuah jembatan yang akan ia lewati akan runtuh, selama dalam perjalanan beberapa pertanda juga sudah terbaca dan dirasakan oleh Sam, namun karena Sam tidak mau merusak acara liburannya, dia akhirnya memilih diam dan mengontrol dirinya agar tidak menjadi terlihat bodoh di depan teman-temannya.

Namun apa yang dirasakan oleh Sam benar terjadi. Perasaan buruk yang dialami oleh Sam terbukti saat bus yang mereka tumpangi melewati jembatan gantung Lions Gate. Jembatan yang masih dalam perbaikan dan pengaspalan itu mulai retak saat seorang pekerja membongkar lapisan aspal sehingga retakan tersebut mengakibatkan jembatan tidak kuat menahan beban mobil yang melintasinya dan membuat baut penahan kabel baja jembatan tersebut perlahan-lahan longgar dan lepas.

Saat kejadian, Bus yang ditumpangi Sam dan mobil-mobil lainnya sedang berada diatas jembatan, tanpa disadari salah satu rangka jembatan mulai bengkok dan patah menembus bagian jembatan hingga menggulingkan mobil yang berada tepat dibawah rangka baja tersebut. Setelah kejadian mengerikan itu, beberapa korban mulai berjatuhan. Saat seluruh pengendara mulai sadar dan panik karena seluruh jembatan mulai goyang dan rapuh, keadaan semakin buruk. Semua keluar dari mobil masing-masing dan berlarian menyelamatkan diri namun sayang, hal ini terlambat karena jembatan mulai runtuh sebelum semua pengendara berhasil menyelamatkan diri.

Seorang penumpang, Dennis (David Koechner) yang hendaknya akan menyelamatkan diri harus menerima kenyataan dirinya mati mengenaskan saat sebuah tangki aspal panas tumpah dan menyiram dirinya. Belum lagi saat seorang lelaki Michael (Arlen Escarpeta) yang saat itu kaget melihat Isaac terbunuh langsung berlari menyelamatkan diri, namun naas, baut besar pertama yang berguna untuk menyangga kabel baja terlepas dan menghantam kepalanya.

Dari situ, keadaan makin parah. Seorang gadis Candice (Ellen Wroe) yang sedang berada didalam mobil tidak tahu kalau posisi mobil tepat lurus sarah dengan kabel baja penahan tiang jembatan. Saat baut pertama jatuh menimpa Michael, kabel baja yang menahan tiang jembatan tiba-tiba terlepas dan mendorong tubuhnya terlempar dari atas jembatan dan mati menabrak perahu yang kebetulan lewat di bawahnya.Seperti tidak cukup korban, kematian ‘pun mengejar wanita bernama Olivia (Jacqueline MacIness Wood), dirinya meninggal saat jatuh kelaut dan dihantam sebuah mobil yang jatuh dari atas jembatan.

Seluruh jembatan mulai goyang, seorang pria Chris Lawton (Miles Fisher) terlambat menyelamatkan diri saat lampu jembatan jatuh menimpa dirinya dan mengalirkan ribuan volt listrik keseluruh badannya. Sanggupkah Sam dan kekasihnya, Molly menyelamatkan diri mereka dari maut itu?
